Today, we are presenting the second contender whose genius spurred a tonne of money which, Oh-So-fortunate for the humanity, found Philanthropic causes. A child prodigy who became a household name of the century and a centurion in the Computer Technology.

- A rebellious hacker @ Heart, fierce competitor and a child prodigy who mastered computer at a very early age
- A guy who hacked his school computers to put himself in the class where he was the only boy & rest were… Well, you get the picture!
- A nerd who became one of the most significant cogs in the worldwide technological evolution
- A purely intellectual person who decided to take it upon himself to change the world by giving gifts of innovation.
Meet William Henry Gates ‘The Third’ or Better Known as Bill Gates:
Bill Gates, a Seattle-born kid who demonstrated a staggering intellect since birth and later went on to establish world’s biggest computer enterprise. The Founder of Microsoft has been an inspiration, a lighthouse for technocrats and technopreneurs of the world. A genius by birth and a visionary who understood that humanity needed a push. A push to propel it in the direction of an earth-wide evolution. For a long-time, Bill Gates had been seen as a herald in the world of computers and operating systems. A role which he had played magnificently over the last 3 decades and kept on building his vast empire every year. He was consistently increasing his earnings to even a point that Gates earned $20 Million a day. And then he stepped down!
Gates Decided to step down from the position of CEO and started focusing on solving humanity’s problems. For the most part of his life, Bill Gates had lived an auspicious, luxurious and ‘filled with all worldly pleasures’ kind-of-life. He had without a doubt earned every cent of it, but Gates always maintained the philosophy that, ‘All lives have equal values!’.
After reading a news about how the diseases which were extinct in the America were still wrecking havoc on Third World Countries, Gates took a decision to take a step that will ensure that all people from across the globe can get a chance to upsurge themselves.
Out of the urge to do something, Bill and his wife Melinda Gates established a foundation, which is the largest transparently operated private foundation in the world.
Bill Gates and Melinda Gates Foundation:
In the year 2000, Bill and Melinda Gates launched their foundation and waged a war against poverty, diseases and lack of education. During their travels and visits to the third world countries, both of them were shaken by the sub-par quality of lives people lived in those regions. Inspired by the involvement Bill’s parents partook in the community empowerment, he decided to use his vast wealth & influence for the betterment of the world.
Out of immense dedication & sympathy, Bill & Melinda Gates foundation has raised $28 billion, the largest volume of capital ever mainlined to charity. Gates took it as his responsibility to change the world and eradicate the problems & shortcomings in:
- Education Sector
- Healthcare Services
- Global Violence
- Human Welfare Services
A Plethora of Battles Bill Gates is Fighting:
On December 9th, 2010 Bill Gates signed ‘Gates-Buffet Giving Pledge’ and took a vow to donate at least half of his wealth to charity. In his pursuit to fight the diseases which are scorching the human race, Gates has set-up multiple research, relief and restoration campaigns across the globe. The Gates Foundation is focused on spreading an umbrella of affordable, accurate and within reach healthcare system. This multifaceted battle against human race is being fuelled by lack of funding, awareness and rise of new startup business ideas which can provide tech-driven solutions to solve the problems in the world.
How can Bill Gates Protect the World?
The foundation is driven by the philosophy, ‘To use capital from the foundation to help businesses create solutions to complex & entrenched problems’. In order to ensure that, Bill Gates Foundation has set up divisions all over the world to harness advanced science and technology to save lives.
Here’s how Bill Gates and Melinda Gates Foundation has been helping the human race since its inception:
There are as many as 18 holdings of this foundation established by Bill Gates and Melinda Gates, spread across different industries trying to strengthen the world from its core.
Does all these Qualify Bill Gates be a Guardian?
Our world is a very big place which needs nourishing, protection and a driving force to guide it towards improvement. There are only a handful of people like Bill Gates who are actively doing their part to save the world from succumbing to the horrors of poor health, chronic hunger and lack of education. In our books, Bill Gates seems like a credible contender who definitely deserves a seat at the table of the Guardians.
